Home Office Featuring Marge Carson Furniture
For those of you who work from home, or simply have a room to house the family computer, your home office should represent your personal style while still being work-appropriate. Therefore, our design team selected furniture pieces from Marge Carson to achieve an elegant, sophisticated look for this space. With the details and craftsmanship that this manufacturer offers, we felt that nothing else would do the room justice.
Beginning this project, our clients wanted a classic, cozy office that was both beautiful and functional. After all, no matter how pretty it is, you still need to get work done! We wanted to make sure that the fine furniture we selected complimented not only the room’s but the home’s stately feel.
Nothing says “stately office” like dark wood and rich leather. We combined these two elements in selecting the finishes for the main pieces of furniture.
Scale and proportion are extremely important when designing a room and selecting furniture. Opposite the large cabinet, is a beautiful focal-point fireplace flanked by arched windows. In order to balance the room, the piece opposite this wall needed to feel just as massive. But not wanting to overwhelm the room, we selected cabinetry with open shelving and glass doors.
The room needed custom window treatments, it would have looked unfinished with out them. Not wanting hide the arched windows, we chose a hobbled roman style to allow a little bit of privacy, while not blocking out the natural light or taking away from the molding.
We also selected two comfortable upholstered chairs with a wood frame to flank the fireplace. Adding additional seating for family, friends, or work associates to gather makes the room more inviting.
Accessories are always the finishing touches but often go overlooked. We feel that accessories are the “jewelry” of the space, and that you can really showcase your personality & character of the room through accent pieces.
