You know the feeling: that anxious yet excited feeling of waiting for the delivery of your new furniture that you purchased from that furniture store. The truck pulls up in your driveway and two guys jump out to begin unloading your pieces
one at a time — first the sofa, then the accent chairs, and maybe if you were lucky you managed to find the perfect cocktail table and end tables to compliment the look.
If you are like most clients looking to update your space, you are left with brand new furniture but… that’s it. No accessories to bring in richness & color. No warmth in the form of greenery or floral arrangements. No ambient lighting that perfectly enhances your space. Just furniture pieces floating in your room.
[Palos Park Home – Before Linly Designs “Accessory Call”]
Here is a great example. This client purchased only her main pieces (the two chairs and sofa seen above) from another local furniture store right after she moved in. But they couldn’t deliver a completed room, and she became frustrated.
After seeing our showroom for the first time, she asked us to come out for an appointment to see the space in the hope of us giving her what she was looking for. We did, in the form of a perfectly-proportioned Marge Carsoncocktail table, coordinating accent chair & ottoman, an elegant silk tree in the corner, and accessories to give it the warmth and sophistication this client was going for.

After completing her Great Room, she then asked us to help with the rest of her home. Excited that we would really be able to show off our talents, we provided both the main pieces and the accessories!

[Willowbrook Home – Before Linly Designs “Accessory Call”]
Our Willowbrook clients came to us last summer looking to refresh their living room. They already had their main pieces of upholstery, but just needed a few accents (and the properly-scaled window treatments!) to complete their home.

After an new furniture layout, a fresh coat of paint, and some great accessories, they now have an elegant yet functional space to entertain or spend a quiet evening reading a book by the fireplace.

Any furniture store or designer can sell you just furniture, but it takes talent to design a room. This client from Glen Ellyn had her main pieces already, but came to us looking for finishing touches. She had a great start: Marge Carson upholstered pieces and Fine Art fixtures. But beautiful pieces themselves don’t make a room — it’s the way they are placed together. The chairs above were much too small for the very large sofa. So we decided to swap them with a larger and more proportional chair from her family room. We also added beautiful black chests for either side of the fireplace accented with LaBarge mirrors and really made that fireplace wall a focal point. With a few more accessories, this room is completed to perfection.
